Which will remove a layer of meaning. And which I shall have to stet. So, I think I WILL insert [...] When that happens, re writing, it’s useful to start over. Not completely over; but to do what writers call a ‘rolling rewrite’, going back to the start the book and editing forward in rapid motion. So the page count has started over, and will follow the re-write. Don’t panic: this is ordinary. We’re cooking everything we can. We have a tiny freezer and two ice-chests, so we’re putting things there. For our fridge think not of a fridge with a six-pack of beer and a half packet of weiners. Nay! A) I’m a food-hoarder when it comes to ice boxes. I stuff the thing with everything [...] It takes me a while to recover my stride after a diversion. Thank goodness for outlines. We were, for one thing, diverted by a spate of really cool weather, making it foolish to wait to do certain outdoor jobs which would have to be done in potential 100 degree weather, when we had a run [...] I write and I erase the outline. We’re in a transitional scene, which is pretty well crossing maps, so there’s about as much put in as taken out, so that’s why the graph doesn’t advance appreciably. We are now into the main action of the book. Todd Lockwood is doing the cover for the next [...] Jane got out and ran the Mantis. I stayed in and wrote. Then we headed for the rink. I felt way much better than I have…3-turn is effortless again and I’m not having the dizziness issues. Then we got the notion how to cut those pesky bridge supports that have been hanging fire for a [...] Betrayer. Betsy Wollheim thought that up. It so works. No, I haven’t got a date yet, but I will mail the book in next week. You’ll note that the one after that, Intruder, now has a progress bar. —–> Which proves the Bren book is moving nicely. I thought I’d put it on and just sit down and trim up a few details in the scene… It would have been a nice pot of stew. A total loss.
