Welcome to the new look
Wave Without A Shore
It’s a work in progress but everything should work now
Isn't it lovely, being IN the construction zone…
...not quite while the cement is being poured, but at least while the walls are being painted, half the shelves are up, and the books are in boxes awaiting shelving. We have moved in the cash register and programmed it. We have carpet. We have posters on the walls. We...
Question re file size and download: Do I need to change it? Is anybody having trouble? Let me know!
Sifting the various input, download difficulties due to the size of the file are posing a formidable challenge to some users on some systems. As a 'gateway' problem, this turns people away before we can get them through the door to help them with any other problems,...
How to read e-books on your computer…
This for those of you who've never done this...help and comments via questions are welcome. On the left sidebar, find downloads called E-readers. The programs in question are: Calibre and Mobipocket Reader. Calibre is shareware (ie, would like a little donation), and...
Check it out! It works! It works!
Awright! I refuse, absolutely refuse to admit what I forgot to do. Too many irons in the fire is my only excuse and even I'm not buying that. But the download should now work! If it doesn't...wait ten minutes before telling me. I wanna go take a shower! :D--->J THE...
Microsoft update problem: UPDATE: MISCHIEF MANAGED: READ WYVERN’S COMMENT
...until they get this one fixed. This from CNN: apparently a new Windows security update is returning a black screen, no controls on some systems. Microsoft is working with great urgency to figure out fix this, but right now, I wouldn't permit my system to update,...

What ‘reader’ do you recommend and why? We’ve had a request for this question.
Mine: I like my laptop. I live with it. And it has color, as well as pretty clear screens. I can also read it in the dark: I understand the eInk screens require an external light source just like paper. As I get older, my eyes get worse for close work, and my need for...

Now I need info from the Wavy Navy re your readers/devices/computers…
...so I can format the files that go into the downloads. For example are you using PC or Mac, give the OS (just in case: I don't think I need to know, but..)---if you are using your computer as a reader? Are you using Kindle, Sony, or some other kind of reader? Are...
More progress: I am actually building e-books…
It's futzy. But I'm gaining on it, learning as I go. I'm going to blow up and erase a lot of copies until I get it to my liking, but my plan is to use one of my several processors to convert HTML to PDF, use Mobi Pocket Creator to create a mobi book, then use the mobi...
Nothing like spotting a potential emergency outside when you first wake up…
I look out and all our koi are out swimming. This can be very bad. We lost Rukia to hypothermia, and random swimming is a symptom. I got online and googled "koi premature waking", "koi wintering", and half a dozen other phrases and finally got one article that hinted...
Progress on Hellburner scan…a convenient 'check-here' of what's been done.
Thank you in every case. You are keeping me sane. Dekker has nothing on me while simultaneously writing the ending of a book, handling a total file reorganization to find out what I DO have, decorating for the holidays, and trying to get the CC site online (we are...
