It’s futzy. But I’m gaining on it, learning as I go. I’m going to blow up and erase a lot of copies until I get it to my liking, but my plan is to use one of my several processors to convert HTML to PDF, use Mobi Pocket Creator to create a mobi book, then use the mobi file in Calibre to get it to create the ePub file. Then I zip the lot into one packet and we are ready to start getting serious.
Don’t expect it this next week: Jane, who’s been writing, had to switch to artist, then to programmer/artist, then to programmer, business planner, Speaker-to-Paypal and other software, and web designer—deserves a couple of weeks to start getting her books into shape to be there at the launch. But we have product, my friends, or should by tomorrow. We have buttons and whistles and bells, oh, my! We have backlist, as rights reverted this month on the books I’ve already listed, and we’re going to have a whole new site for you to explore….
And those of you helping scan, thank you so much! It would take me a full week to do what you guys have done, and weeks are precious right now while I’m trying to help Jane, compose the E-books, get the files in order to FIND book files, and write the ending of a book. We are so determined to get this up and going!
I want to thank you for mentioning Iconix from PayPal. I
can’t get it as they haven’t yet gotten around to making
it compatible with Thunderbird. They will let me know if/
when it becomes available to me. I do like that they are
busy securing things!
Wow – love the new CC front pic. It’s great that things are moving here. Pre or post Xmas launch?
I have OCR software, experience in using it, and a copy of Hellburner. If you care to nominate a chapter, I’ll get going. I believe it was stated in a previous thread that an rtf file is acceptable?
I’m not sure which chapters are currently being done. CHecking the list and comments below, in the Hellburner Progress thread: http://new.wavewithoutashore.cwgservices.org/?p=929#comments —15
may be safe to take, but the list can change from hour to hour: go there and declare for a chapter. And thanks so much! 😉
Ohhh, excitement. And I am almost hardware ready. I waited to buy a new laptop until Apple produced Snow Leopard, the latest OS. On Black Friday I helped the economy by buying a new MacBookPro – an upgrade in every way, so I can load Calibre and be ready to read online. I still have to transfer data and set up a home network so all the computers can use the DSL line, but our timing should be in line with yours. Closed Circle will be one of the first new connections on my new laptop.
Technology management is annoying to do, but the results are great.
