Beautiful, beautiful kitty. He’s asleep beside the koi pond, near the waterfall and pond he used to watch for hours. His passing was peaceful, without fear or discomfort, and OSG very kindly was there for us.
He was born in Oklahoma, traveled the Great Move to Spokane, via a near calamity in Nebraska, and several apartments. He was very happy when we got a house where doors didn’t mysteriously bang and thump and unknown people walk up and down stairs…he loved this house. He traveled over 100,000 miles on the road with us, through getting lost in Utah, and was with us at the Grand Canyon and Meteor Crater and Carlsbad. He saw the ocean—and did not approve of all that water.
He loved the pond, however, and loved flowers: he sleeps under the limbs of a young Japanese maple and beside a rose bush.
That’s what I can tell you.
I am so sorry.
I am so sorry. Condolences to all three of you; I know that Ysbel is mourning too.
Thank you all for your kind wishes. Ysabel has officially gotten worried about him and has started to search. We’re doing a bit better, but Ysabel is just confused and upset.
So sorry to hear of your loss. Kind thoughts to all of you, especially Jane of course, and hoping that Ysabel won’t remain too distressed.
Oh no, and so quick. A garden is a good spot to rest and sleep,,, and also a good spot to sit and mourn and miss. Take care of yourselves and Ysabel.
He was never sick a day in his life. And went in 3 days. But he went gently, and had no pain that we could tell.
It will take Ysabel a day or so to adjust. Our kitties always look for the missing one for a couple of days and then they adjust.
Condolences. Sympathies.
CJ, Jane: My deepest sympathies. It is so hard to lose a beloved pet. About a month ago I had to have my cat, Sam (whose gran I was), put to sleep. I came in to the store that morning and found him lying on the floor, his hind legs paralyzed. I rushed him to the vet who said he’d had a stroke and there was nothing to do put put him down. I still grieve. He also left behind his littermate of fifteen years. Ella is finally getting past the point where she stands in front of the back door and howls for him. Be patient with Ysabe. You simply cannot explain to a small, worried cat that after a lifetime of being one of two, she is now one of one.
It’s always so hard to lose a family member. When my first kitty passed, a friend sent me the following quote, which I’ve always treasured. I was one cat old then, and now I am three cats old. All have been dear friends.
I’m so sorry to hear of Efanor’s passing.
i’m so so sorry. i’ve lost 2 pals in the last 2 years. it is very hard.
Very sorry to hear that. We had to put down one of our cats yesterday. The poor fellow had a massive cancerous tumor. Very sad.
I am so sorry to hear this. I have lost three of my older cats in the four years since Russ moved to New York. I know how very difficult this is. Hugs to both of you.
Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of a beloved pet.
So very sorry to hear your sad news. Vale Efanor.
