A fairy penguin would be very Melbourne! But he is a baby Gentou penguin from Antarctica – they are all very curious and come up to you expecting you to provide regurgitated fish – just like their parents do!
Ah, that explains it. We saw a lot of the fairy ones at Taronga Zoo. We lived at Mosman and went there frequently when I was a kid. Could also hear the lions roar every afternoon at 3 when it was feeding time.
