Not only that, I recovered 2 of the skinny fish that had escaped through the drain-slots into the sump.
Everybody’s happy and healthy. The jawfish relocated in a temper tantrum last night and made a new burrow, but now has returned to his old one, which is far finer and lined with shells.
It’s Jane’s birthday. I’m taking the day off.
Last night I relaxed with a genealogical puzzle in which I *might* have solved a little historical puzzle…it’s under Genealogy, tabs above.
Happy Birthday, Jane

I’m very glad of that. We’ve all had incidents that turned into “rolling disasters”. They’re almost painful. “How can this happen?” Sort-of like that old movie “Hospital”. 😉
My favorite is “The Money Pit,” original version. We’ve owned that house. At one point, at that house, we had 5 repair trucks for different problems in the drive at once.
So your ancestors keep skipping out of places and changing their names? Mine were luckier. They had nicely common names!
So did mine – I don’t expect to find the immigration record for my mother’s great-grandfather Taylor. It would be about 1849 and been from Liverpool to NY.
One of the last bunches of my family that immigrated to North America came over in 1852(ish) and I’m ALMOST certain I have the ship list. Unfortunately the family name is only given once in the bunch I’m looking at, and its obscured. The rest of the list is ‘ibid’ but the first names and estimated ages are almost exactly right. Sigh. I’ll probably never know for sure if its them, because the names are common. Ah well!
