Betrayer. Betsy Wollheim thought that up. It so works.
No, I haven’t got a date yet, but I will mail the book in next week.
You’ll note that the one after that, Intruder, now has a progress bar. —–>

mmmm, now that sounds serious.
any idea on publication date ?
No date yet. Probably Betsy herself isn’t sure.
Hmm. Out of the fourteen atevi words available, would this title translate as “one who takes the obvious course?”
(You know, no matter where you put that question mark, it doesn’t look right.)
I’m happy to see the next one. Slightly related: Have you ever said where 12 fits on the Atevi numerical-kosherness scale?
Bren serves up bees on a tray? I realize that the Atavi are a little off concerning their foods, but bees?
*For shame*…….NosenDove! 😉 😀 😆
Love that title.
This is the one you said in an earlier thread was tentatively entitled “Mediator”?.
Bren has never seen a bee. Otherwise, he might have enjoyed honey at breakfast with ‘Sidi-ji.
BTW, can we have a book in the series dedicated to Xheralt? Call it “Radiator” 😀
This is my first post, though I’ve been reading for a couple of years, almost every day. About durn time, you might say, and rightly so. And the content of my first post in regards to the current topic is:
Yay!
Well, it’s a start.
Thank you for the progress bar–I’ve missed the word count from the old blog.
Thank Lynn Abbey for that. Her research can turn up the darndest things. And that progress bar is a brilliant piece of programming. It’s shareware, and the creator has a contribution coming.
Judging by the look on Bren’s face, I’d guess the next book should have been called “Exterminator.”
😆
The date you put this up made me think wacky book titles. Like:
“Interlocutor” — Bren talks, does nothing else. That’s his job, isn’t it?
“Tatter” — with peace and, more importantly, understanding breaking out, Bren needs a hobby, and so takes up needle crafts.
“Walker” — when the atevi learn the idea of ideas of union, a transportation workers’ strike forces Bren and the others to go everywhere on foot; or, Ilisidi faces the infirmities of age; or, a crossover with Star Wars.
and my brain is dead; I meant “labor union”
Cj if you ever have trouble with any Editor Tell your readers and we will chew him out good!!!!!!
Or HER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ditto docmom! Thank you Lynn Abbey and the “progress bar” programmer.
CJ, In the progress bar you mention a “goal”? of 209 single-spaced pages. How do you know this in advance? Does this equal a publisher pre-set length that corresponds to a set number of quires (of pages) or what? And, is the font size/margins on the pages 12 pt. Times with 1.5 inch margins or what?
I ask because I often wonder how far I have come lengthwise on my own (much neglected) Scottish historical fantasy and have no way to judge what that means in terms of a printed book.
Will your book 11, Deceiver coming out in May be available as an e-book. Saw it for presale at Amazon and Barnes and Noble in hardback.
I have been reading your SF books for some time now. I absolutely love the Faded Sun series and have read it several times. currently i am now anxiously awaiting your 13th book in the Foreigner series. I have just finished reading Betrayer and it was excellent, i found myself laughing out load at things that Bren or Jago would say and i could appreciate the underlying humor that comes from truly understanding the characters and their situations. this is due to the meticulous details that you have consistently used in the universe that you have built.
Thanks for writing, and entertaining me for so long.
