Negative on search for those. mail13 I’ve had trouble with before. The 33 one is new. Sigh.
I used to get spam in Chinese —
Greek, Russian, Spanish, and not-quite-fluent English. That last one always claims to be written by someone who should, in fact, be fluent.
(From past forum admin experience) — unfortunately, some dot -suffix country codes are so likely to be spam sources that it’s common to either block them entirely or require apprval on a case-by-case basis. Most forum software now has various controls in place to block and limit the chance of spambots and human spammers and trolls/flamers. (That is, those folks who get joy out of stirring up trouble or inciting such among others.)
On the other hand, just because many sucj email addresses are bogus, of couse does not mean all such are. One of the best fan forums I know of has fans who are valued contributors and who are from some of those countries… They just happen to.be genuine real live people, who happen to love science fiction, and be law-abiding (one expects) rather than computer scripts written solely to make a few people wealthy and most people at least quite unhappy or offended, if not poorer.
Spammers and spam — spam’s only good with pineapple or ketchup, or other very limited circumstances involving 1970’s British humo(u)r.
Hmm, might need to work on my comedic timing a bit. Or at least consider a can of processed meat….
Anyway, my sympathies. I wish I knew helpful suggestions for WordPress.
Unfortunately we don’t have all the blocking ability…or I don’t. I should sift through some plugins and see if there’s anything to bar certain servers.
