Had a quiet good time. Thank you for the wonderful gift. I know many contributed who weren’t able to be there. I’m so happy to have it. It’s going to have a place of honor in ultimate arranging. And thank you all, those who could attend and those who couldn’t make it. We’ll do this again sometime, if interest is there.

We are currently in Buffalo, WY on the way home. Flooding in AZ has caused us to reevaluate our travel itinerary. Unfortunately, rooms are few and far between and booked up in Casper, and Douglas so we decided to stop early and leave early tomorrow.
If you stayed at the Buffalo Inn, then that’s where we are right now.
OOpsie. You might get something in Ft. Collins —there’s a good La Quinta on Garden of the Gods Road, in Colorado Springs. Meanwhile, Buffalo’s Cantina has real good food.
I saw that news report and thought of you. Hope everything is ok.
The 30 mile stretch of I-15 in the north west corner of Arizona was rendered unpassable by 1/3 of the allotted rainfall coming in one hour. Normally dry cliff faces in the Gorge of the Virgin River were massive waterfalls of intensely dirty runoff.
Traffic is now routed from Cedar City, Utah to Panaca, Nevada and then down to the passable part of I-15 north of Las Vegas. It was a mess. The guy who was going to fix my shower here in Vegas was stuck in St. George, Utah over night.
1/3 of the allotted annual rainfall fell in one hour and that wasn’t all the rain either.
When I was in the Phoenix airport yesterday during my lay-over the televisions were talking about the flooding in the Las Vegas area and the closure of I-15. As we took off I could see what looked like a small creek that was out of its banks; lots of trees in the water.
Hope everything is okay at your place, Ready. Maybe some of the run-off will soak in before it gets to your part of the world.
Wow! PLEASE stay safe, never drive into floodwaters—in OKC we had a woman drown in six inches of road flood that swept her into a drainage when she got out of her stalled car. I worry about everybody down there!
It was a truly impressive mess yesterday in Phoenix — some of the worse on the freeway right were I used to live. Broke a record for most rain in one day held since 1939, almost 3 inches, although some areas got almost 6. Phoenix is like LA — lots of towns oozed together. Most of the flooding over by the afternoon, but lots of mud to deal with. We only got an inch and that included a downpour in the wee hours.
Still wish I could have been there! I’m looking forward to photos and all!

Now they’re posting a snow warning near Cheyenne WY. Keep the weather in mind.
Dearly wish I had been there as well! Might be in a better position next year ( fingers crossed for no more paying for the dentist’s office and new equipment). Also can’t wait for pictures!
Glad everyone had fun, is safe, and wish I could have come again. Alas, still no news on the job front. I’m not ready to retire. Employment is good, employment is good….

Nancy and I had a wonderful time and got home safely. Though our connecting flight was delayed by two hours!
It was so great to meet everyone. I hope Jane and CJ’s house is not too much of a disaster area after we all descended on it.

Two hour delay in a connecting flight is a minor annoyance. A connecting flight that leaves two hours early is a major p.i.t.a. [Mind you, a flight that leaves early may be an urban myth]
Excellent you’re home safely! Thought that this early in September we couldn’t possibly run into weather issues—wrong!
