I have finished the master .prc file for Faery Moon. I am working to unite the scanned chapters of Faery in Shadow into a .prc file, and I can report so far the project is going swimmingly. Not a glitch yet. It’s futzy: I have to go paragraph by paragraph, and it’s just a wee bit gappy, but the eye can ignore it.
I’ll have to design a new cover for the old Faery in Shadow: I have no rights to use the original book cover, so I’ll … No. Wait! My brother did that one. I’ll ask him. That, and Goblin Mirror. Hmmm. Gotta talk to him!
Which of the Faery covers is that? I have two copies, and they are different.
He did the one with the ghost. I talked to him this evening. He doesn’t like to put his name to it: he was art-directed to the max, badly so, frankly, on a rush job, with the art director changing his mind by the hour, and then, insult to injury, the post office *broke* the painting, can you believe it? Snapped it right in two in a bad spot to boot, hard to repair. That doesn’t help. So it sorta got a cover. But what he does have are his other paint-sketches, which he says the ones he likes better that they didn’t use, and he’s going to send me those. So I think I can put something together out of his pieces and that saves us the time of doing a cover for it, which is considerable work. Odd that this book which had so many disasters connected to it also created disasters for the cover—but this time we’re doing it OUR way, and we’ll turn out something nice.
