This is a project we’ve been working on…and I think you’ll be interested.

Oooh! I look forward to that.
That’s wonderful! I’m very much looking forward to hearing this. I’ve read many of the books in audio format from the National Library Service for the Blind. The two readers did a wonderful job, but having this extra dimension will be fascinating.
We’ve heard a practice squib and it was seriously cool!!!!! Esp Ilisidi!!! 😀 😀 😀
Kickstarter? You’re funding this via Kickstarter? How about a contribution link?
chondrite: we are putting together the kickstarter campaign. keep up with what we’re doing on the new blog: cjcherryhmovieinaudio.tumblr.com
While I personally prefer a straight reading of the book, this is exciting – I went to the Kickstarter site but could not find it – please put up a link.
OOoooo. Does a happy dance and updates my wishlist.
I haven’t got one yet, but when I do, I’ll post it here.
This is like a radio drama…or the sound track of a movie. There are sfx, voices are near or far according to the script, etc, with great care taken with background noises, etc. Doors open and close, locks click, mechieti complain, and halls echo. This is not a reading: it is an audio play.
Now I have a great curtiosity about what a mecheti, complaining or not, sounds like. I have this vaguely Wookiee-ish SFX in my head.
I cannot wait! I love the story and I love radio theater. Oh Boy!
Oh, yes! Do please publish the link to your kickstarter site. This could be big, Big, BIG!
Ahem: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry, so sorry, but it had to be done.
Is it possible, I mean, as a way to drum up sales, would it be possible to post the test squib (or something of that nature)? I’m aching to hear Ilisidi, etc… and hearing that stuff would make your sales based on a “whet-your-appetite” as well as “you know you’ll like this…” 😉
lordvorp: we’re keeping that under our hats for the moment. give us time. You’ll get plenty to whet your whistle.
As others have said … where’s the Kickstarter link. I’ve been invested in other projects with them.
very interesting, looking forward to hearing more about it

YYYYEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH! This is so cool! Wonder how we’ll tell the differences between Human and Atevi language?
this is awesome!!! the tumblr says the kickstarter hasn’t started yet btw. So keep us updated!
Ooh, ooh, ooh! This I can’t wait for. I’ve never “started a kick” but looking forward to my virgin boot!
Just subscribed to the blog … got to keep up with what’s going on.
that’s very exciting!
some audio books have a little atmospheric music in between chapters – see the Algebraist by Iain M Banks – which does add a lot – but real audio drama – wowee!
purplejulian, this will have so so so much more than a little atmospheric music between chapters 🙂
