She says she had a wonderful time, but she wants her kittehs and her own bed.
We’re going to pick her up at the airport, since OSGuy is at work. We have her house keys. Heh. But we’re out of resources to do the reception number on her house that she did on ours. The fact OSGuy is home just limits our creativity about hanging pirate flags in the living room and skulls in the shower and the basement.
We are, however, retaining that idea for a suitable time.
We did a quick and dirty once on a friend’s apartment with cheap heavy metal band posters (read five for a buck). We just taped them up over the pictures hanging in the rooms – she was so tired it took her a day to notice.
Off topic, but I noticed on slickdeals that Lenovo had a special coupon code for their IdeaPad G550. Probably should call to make sure it comes with a trackpoint, but it looks like it could be a good deal.

Thanks!
“Touch pad: Two-button touch pad with scroll feature (no TrackPoint®)” Oh, poo. Sorry for the false alarm. Interesting that they specifically said “no TrackPoint”. I guess it is a deal breaker for more than just you.

Ah, well, but thank you.
Alas, my computer budget has undergone a sudden (ahem) contraction, so I am going to stick with the old Dell for another number of months.
Thanks to you guys, and a major thanks to JCrow, I now know what I’m looking for, and I will wait until the Vista/Win7 shift has shaken out, which is not a bad thing.

Journalist Jeff Jarvis has been diagnosed with prostate cancer:
“I’m opting for robotic surgery – geek that I am, how could I not? My only fear is that they’ll wheel me into the O.R. and I’ll see that the machine is powered by Dell.”
