If you’re in a position to take one or more of these, it’d require a pickup in Spokane.

One of my old friends (who coincidentally is fannish) urgently needs to find a new, stable home(s) for his 3 lovely, loving cats. He describes them as “love bunnies, 4 year old fixed females”. This breaks his heart but he really has no choice. He is willing to let them be adopted into separate homes.
The cats are in Spokane & of course arrangements to deliver them to their new home could be worked out if it would not be too far (i.e. Florida)
Please post here, or contact CJ via email. If you elect to go through her, please include something in your email subject line that clearly indicates it is not spam. A header such as “cat adoption”, etc. would work nicely. I’ll put you in touch with my friend.
Inland Northwesters, please spread the word — and thanks so much for helping to find these kitties find a new, loving home.
Here’s a CHEER for rescued pets. With love and patience most animals can be incorporated into a household. I had 13 yr. old brother and sister who lived in the kiln room for over a year before they were confident enough to come into the rest of the house. The Dumpster Duo were adopted almost a year apart and now are inseparable. Even Friendly who loves her humans but not so much other kittehs will curl up next to them. The goggie was a shelter pup, white shepherd.
Please don’t be anxious about adopting older pets and golly-gee wouldn’t it be great to let all three stay together?
Our babies are always adopted….either we adopt them from the shelter (including our dear sweet Emily), or they adopt us (our Kate was cruelly abandoned one bitter, bitter winter) Whenever we go to the shelter or see a baby in need it breaks my heart that we can’t bring them all home.
It also breaks my heart that my friend is having to give up his beloved furry children. I can’t fix his situation, but at least I can try to help him find loving homes for his kitties. WWAS has so many cat lovers, and at least several of you live in the the Inland Northwest region, so we are hoping….
I’ve either rescued (Sharra, Mooch) or inherited from family
(Loosefur and Cowboy) all of the cats I’ve had as an adult. Like OSG, I wish I could “save” all of them. I’m sorry I can’t help your friend, but good wishes his (and to the kitties, of course!) way.
And these are good person-kitties. The owner is very willing to drive them to you if need be! And apparently to drive some distance.
I hope these kitties found a good home. A calico cat from a rescue organization came to live with Sylvester and me on Thursday night. We are all still adapting – she’s about 3 years old but quite dainty. I found her on the Pet Finder’s link – she had been looking for a forever home for a long time. Unfortunately, she has a tapeworm and fleas, so lots of combing and pilling, which is making her skittish around me.
Just wish I could give them all homes!
