Or as she put it, this is the only scheduled hospital stay she’s ever had…her other visits have involved unplanned ones, aka accidents or emergencies.
She had, and we think it is now entirely past tense, a little rapid-heartbeat problem that she’s had for many years, fixable by surgery if it should become a nuisance, and it had finally become a nuisance. The procedure involved going in with a little laser and frying a few cells, as I understand it, and it went quite well today: they took only an hour to do the job, instead of the two that might have been—she’ll be overnighting in the hospital; and Jane and I talked to OSGuy and to her post-op, and she’s quite happy. So think good thoughts for her, and she’ll be fine and home tomorrow with OSGuy and the kittehs.
good to hear she’s doing fine.
yes, very good to hear the positive news.
Good thoughts for OSG and OSGuy and critters and family. Here’s hoping she feels much better soon.
Best wishes to OSG.I am happy that the radio frequency ablation worked.
glad she came through all right. My younger brother had it done, as did my nephew. Pete had atrial tachycardia and Jeremy had ventricular tachycardia. Pete wore an ICD for years before they did the RF ablation. I wish it had been done earlier, maybe he’d still be alive today.
VERY glad to hear the good news, a tiny bit peeved to have been surprised to hear of the necessity of the procedure 🙁 One hopes the discretion was merely because of the lack of severity of the condition and of the procedure. If otherwise, OSG will hear from me, after her full recovery of course.
Happy Holidays to everyone.
Kokipy, I really thought I had told you this was coming up. Maybe it was eclipsed by the news about an impending stork visit?
I’m home — things went EXTRAORDINARILY well, including in the cardiac cath lab as well as post-op.
*Good Thoughts to OSG*
Very glad to hear that things went well, hoping that all continues to do so!
*Good Thoughts to OSG*
Wishing a Merry Christmas to the OSGs…and hopes for a better-than-ever new year
Such good news…..toes crossed for continued good health. 😀
Got a call from her this morning: she had a real good night, and is hoping for a pass by the pancake house after release this morning.
I’m sorry to hear OSG was in the hospital for any reason at all; here’s hoping for a full and speedy recovery, and her favorite flavor of syrup for those pancakes!
Good to hear! Glad it dealt with, glad she’s recovering well. A friend of mine here in Milwaukee (Barleysmama met him when I traveled to her hometown briefly last summer) has the same condition, it hasn’t approached that level of nuisance yet. Beyond a couple day’s work lost and an ER visit about every three years, that is.
I’m doing absolutely, fantastically great, everyone & am now home.
Yesterday’s stint in the cardiac cath lab went better than anyone could have dreamed. Pre-op, it was anticipated my arrhythmia (Paroxysmal Supraventricular Tachycardia; aka PSVT) would take 2+ hours to eradicate. My electrophysiologist (cardiologist) was able to trigger the arrhythmia on the first try, and thus radioablate it without any fuss at all.
Shazam! Cured! The worst part was the strict flat-on-my-back 7 hours of bedrest post-procedure. That was miserable. I even had to be fed because I was not allowed to raise my head *at all*.
Back to work tomorrow. I had no idea any of this was posted here until Carolyn told me about it at lunch today. Thank you everyone for your kind wishes!
Lol, and no, everyone, OSG is NOT expecting! The stork refers to someone else. 😉
I think the stork did kind of edge out other news, OSG. Anyway, good to get all that done well in advance (even though it’s not your stork :)) And so glad you are now fit as a fiddle for the next epoch.
OSG — glad your PSVT is PFFT. Wishing you and yours all the best during the dregs of this year and through the full cup of the next.
So, OSG, I guess you now have a literal piece of your heart missing to match the metaphorical losses of recent times… but healing could’t begin with the bad spot still taking up space. That’s true of a lot of things, I suppose.
