I had meant to sit on this suggestion until CC was fully up, but while this blog is great for low volume discussions, it’s not so good for continuing discussions. You might look at phpBB. It will not maintain threads in order, which is a real problem for a blog, but it will maintain a new message list for each user and allow them to preview and edit their messages–both good to combat typos. Here’s an example of one; check out the thread symbols at the bottom of the page. Something to think about for continuing discussions about books, writing etc., once CC gets knocked into shape.

I’ve thought about it: I use it (as a user) over at Reef Central; but ow, one more learning curve—I think my brain would explode right now. 😉
I understand completely, though a benefit is you get this little pointer to page icon that lets you go to each new entry in a thread, whether you’ve been away an hour or a week. I’ve heard phpBB is pretty easy, but for whom? A CS PhD? Anyway, maybe something for the future when traffic here really gets heavy. But I’ve seen someone try to blog with it: not pretty.
