I just returned a batch, which were packed too heavy: Jane isn’t supposed to be lifting things, I can’t carry them the route to the post office, and we were greatly distraught and exhausted by the time we got them there and got them delivered to the counter.
No more boxes at all for the remainder of this year. I will happily sign bookplates @ 2$ each for shipping and handling, but not 30 lb boxes of books, please.
And after this I am firmly insisting that no box be more than 10 lbs.
Thank you.
Look at it this way: If it does get so bad that the book would only be safe in the attic, it’s likely the cats and I will be there with them, and at least I would have something good to read. (grin)
40 pounds of books are a big much even on a good day, with everything running smoothly. The bookplates are such a great idea, postage-friendly, no weight, easier to handle. My problem is which of my copies of your books I should put a bookplate into! As soon as I figure that out . . .
Anyway you don’t need to be handling books or bookplates or anything extra right now. You have enough on your hands, from kittens and koi and eagles — gorgeous creatures on the wing; scarey predators and carrion eaters up close — to Jane.
Sending good wishes your way!
Amen to that! I think the book plate thing is a brilliant idea.
