As long as the Marid hasn’t decided to invade Spokane this month.
I read that Catalonia hasn’t broadcast the King of Spain’s Christmas speech, so it seems they might be more interested in Barcelona.
psssssst! psssst! (whisper, whisper)
Huh? Not Madrid? In Spain?
(whisper, whisper)
Where’s that?
(whisper, whisper)
Well, never mind then!
I think that the Marid invading our library would cause less disruption than our current problem. This morning, someone wandered through the library with, shall we say, less than unacceptable hygiene, and we are engaged in a seek-and-destroy with rubber gloves, bleach, Lysol, mops, and a carpet cleaner. Half the staff walked out because of disgust, and we had to get royal dispensation to close while we cleaned. Gaaaahhh!
Merry Merry and Happy Happy to all. I have to work until 5 tonight, but after that, it’s a quiet Christmas Eve. Tomorrow we will be having a large Christmas Day dinner, but one wishes the attendees would consistently RSVP; we had 1 last minute addition, which was offset by the 5 who cancelled yesterday. Good thing everyone in our house likes ham.
My brother says, “A Very Merry and a Snappy Happy!”.
Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas and a very happy new year to you and Jane!
And to you, and to all.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and Jane and all the people on this blog.
Merry Christmas Days to you and Jane and all the other denisons of your house.
The Christmas Dragon is busy at our house.
Happiest of days to all your blog followers!
Merry Christmas to ya’ll from Wol, Gobi, Stormie, and Jaks, and bless us every one.
Merry Christmas and many blessings on your household – felicitations for the new year as well!! 😀
I’m giving my brother a copy of Downbelow Station for his birthday. Given that his birthday is December 25th… *grin* We make a little effort to give him at least one present that ISN’T wrapped in the holiday paper, and this year, mine is the one to get said treatment. I’m just glad he’s taken an interest in your work! I’ll have someone else to talk to about how great your books are!! 😀
I gave my Christmas wishes yesterday on another thread.
I was at my sister’s for dinner last evening. Nicely done. She told me a neighbor was a vet tech. The neighbor saw her little poodle and said it looks like a hernia. That appeared reasonable to me last evening. So, if it doesn’t strangulate before he gets on the operating table, perhaps all will be well.
Merry Christmas to everyone, both two-legs and four.
Happy Holidays to everyone in the Wavy Navy. readySon, readySon’s girlfriend, readyDaughter, and BargeBoy have all been feasting here since Monday evening. I’m exhausted now having produced three different holiday meals in as many days. readySon actually served me breakfast-in-bed this morning and that was the best Christmas gift of all!. I hope everyone from this site has as great a holiday season as I am having. Even the pets have been enjoying the extra attention, PepperDog and HalloweenKitteh are enjoying new toys and small numbers of treats.
P.S. Sweet potato pie with extra cinnamon and nutmeg on top surely concludes any meal in style and tastiness!
I hope everyone has had a wonderful Christmas. My family has had a very peaceful one, for which we are very grateful. We greeted the day with our yearly Christmas apple cake, eggs and sausage, and went from there. Now all here are contentedly stuffed and growing sleepy. I think our cats enjoyed the day most of all. Santa brought them what seems to be their favorite gift of all time: A large, empty box. It was, of course, not empty for long. There were very quickly seven cats in it, on it and around it. For variety, one of us would occasionally, in passing, toss in a toy mouse or a ping-pong ball and flip the box upside-down or on its side and – voila – they discovered Santa had delivered yet another wonderful new toy!
Hope you all had a nice Christmas. We’re rejoicing because on Christmas Eve, after a sink insert replacement, a visit from the plumber that included a second sink insert replacement, then another visit from the plumber to replace a defective j-trap, we FINALLY were able to put everything back under the double kitchen sink and it’s no longer leaking.
Functional plumbing (is that a new band name?) is not to be disparaged! I must take apart my kitchen sink at some point; I managed to install my new faucet setup bass-ackwards, and it leaks. It’s not crucial, but annoying, and I am not looking forward to worming my way into the cabinet with pliers in hand.
Huzzah! The kitchen sink faucet has been assaulted, removed, and reinstalled properly with no leaks AFAIK. It now pivots smoothly over both basins, and the handles operate in the conventional direction. *crosses one item off a full page list*
Lol! Congrats on the new sink! And festivities all around!
