The link to the new Blood Red Moon cover is up, and it’s, shall we say, hot.
Look at Jane’s site!

Yay! Nice new cover.
This reminded me to upload Closed Circle ebooks to my iPhone (load into iTunes, sync up) and look into how one (or if one) may sync between Kindle for PC and Kindle for iPhone/iPod, without having a Kindle device. Looking now. (Yay, this means I’ll have several Cherryh, Fancher, and Abbey ebooks with me to read when handy.)
Ebooks available in:
(Y) Kindle for PC app
(Y) Apple iBooks app
(Y) iPhone device via iBooks
(N) Kindle for iPhone via Kindle for PC or via iTunes
No joy in finding how to do the last item there. Help within either app or from Amazon’s site tells you how to get ebooks from Amazon purchases into Kindle in any mode, but does not tell you where the Kindle for PC directory (folder) is. (Found that myself, thanks.) But leaves no clue how to sync between PC and iPhone or if that is possible. I’m looking for a way to send to the account via email through Amazon, as I’ve heard this is possible. But so far, no joy finding it. Looking further, will probably have to do this when I’m home over the weekend.
When I find out anything, I’ll update on Shejidan and TerraFirmaScapers.com forums, my usual scifi hangouts. 🙂
(I will have CC ebooks available tonight on my iPhone, though. Maybe next summer, if there’s a shiny new and improved iPad, I might splurge, if budget will allow it.)
Umm, I’m not sure but doesn’t the third party BlueFire reading app offer reading on iPad and iPhone? I know they support all kinds of formats, drm and non. Jane at DearAuthor.com had a whole huge how-to-thread about it. Let me see what I can find…
Hmm, no synching between Kindle and Bluefire reader. Just the simple fact that you can read drm-free and Adobe DRM books on an iPhone at all.

Keep us posted, and talk to Jane, too: she’s trying to figure how to do this conveniently for everybody!
BCS, You don’t need to import via Kindle for PC. Go to Your account page on Amazon and in the Digital Content page click on Manage your Kindle. Near the top of that page register your iPhone as a device you will use. Then scroll down the page to your orders. You will see a dropdown menu with “Deliver to…” in it. On the dropdown, the final entry should be to your computer. Select either your computer or if your iPhone shows up in the drop down -go directly to your phone. If you have to go to your computer, ensure that when you order your ebook you specify the device you want it to go to. You can have up to seven devices (I think that’s the current limit) but you’ll have to download for each device individually. I know I posted downloading instructions on Shejidan in one of the Kindle threads, but don’t remember where. PM me over there and maybe I can find the thread. –Ready
I should stipulate that these instructions are for books purchased from Amazon for Kindle.
We’re trying to do the technicals for a direct download from CC to the Kindle. Like most such things, it’s not that transparent, but again, Jane’s working on it. Follow her site for precise news on the matter, plus other developments.
Thanks CJ, ready, and estara.
Yes, I know how to sync my purchases from Amazon’s Kindle ebooks to my iPhone.
Yes, it’s independent ebooks, such as from Closed Circle, that I’m trying to learn how to upload onto or sync onto my iPhone, either from my computer or somehow by way of email.
I’ll look for more and fiddle around with this. There must be a way to do it.
I’ll check in at Jane’s blog, register if need be, and likely email you (CJ) and her (Jane) as well as keep up via the Shejidan forum.
Heh, I didn’t mean to sidetrack the news of the new cover. 🙂 The new art is great.
Great Cover! More appropriate to the story….but I did love Cat!
Aside: OK, got another piece of the puzzle solved. It won’t solve the Kindle for iPhone question, but it does help for other apps for iPhone, such as iBooks itself, Stanza, or BlueFire Reader.
