It’s under construction and will be for years, but it’s already camera ready. It’s done in cooperation with a sister city, and will be a huge place with a lake and some really spectacular architecture: if you can’t afford to go to China, you can take some pretty convincing photos here!

Have you been to Portland’s Chinese Gardens? I went there last month, and it was gorgeous!
Glad to know about those! Definitely on our list now!
If you are ever in southern Florida (not likely, I know, but still…) the Morikami Museum and Gardens in Del Ray Beach is really worth a visit. My sister was a member for many years before she became housebound. In all the visits I made with her I never felt that we had seen everything.
If you are ever in San Antonio, visit the “Japanese Tea Garden” build in an old limestone rock quarry. It has recently been resorted from decades of neglect. I can recall visiting it mumble years ago when it was called the Chinese Sunken Garden. It was lovely then, and it should be so once again.
I assume you’ve already visited Kabota Gardens (Rainier Beach area/Seattle). I enjoyed the koi ponds there….there were several when we visited a couple years ago. It’s the type of garden that you can drive by without noticing but it is much larger than I expected and quite lovely. It’s less well known to most than the Japanese gardens at the Arboretum.
