…both posture (a big one) and speed. I can keep Joan and Jane in sight on the way back, the uphill. Downhill I can keep up.
And let me tell you, if you have muscle pain or weakness, get a combo of Gloucosamine, Chondroitin, and Hyaluronic Acid, and take it with Magnesium, Potassium, and Vitamin D. If you’re taking prescription meds, clear it with your doc and get advice from your doc about when in the day/how far from the other dose to take these, or if you should have them—(eg, with levothyroxine it’s 4 hours away from the thyroid dose for Magnesium, or in Jane’s case, Iron.) Here’s what hyaluronic acid does: http://www.livestrong.com/article/373182-hyaluronic-acid-foods/ I got off it for a while and really felt it; got back on, and I’m in far better shape.
Rats: here’s the link. http://www.livestrong.com/article/373182-hyaluronic-acid-foods/
You really have to go through a silly amount of process to get a link to display in a post, as opposed to a comment.
You sound like us when we were bicycle touring. The Sunday afternoon ride was from ice cream shop to ice cream shop … with a brief stop at the taco joint (for those who didn’t eat ice cream):))
“You go, girl!” I’m not hiking for a while! My sciatica is from a ‘synovial cyst’ opposite the just slightly bulging L4-5 disk, causing a restriction in the spinal cord. They may be able to get a needle into it (with CT assistance) and aspirate the cyst out, but that’s unappealingly close to my spinal cord!
Ow, that’s nasty! I think I’d pick a very, very, very well-recommended doc and let them go for it; but ow, I agree with you, scary business. Maybe one of the medical folk on here (of course, ALWAYS get your surgical advice from an sf writer’s blog! 😉 ) could estimate how chancy. Seems if they can stick needles in to give a spinal block or draw off spinal fluid for a test they ought to be able to target a cyst accurately.
I think most folks who are up on the most recent thyroid research know that 4 hours is how long you need to wait to eat ANYTHING after taking your T4. When I picked up my most recent prescription, the pharmacist reminded me of this….first time for that! So the word is finally filtering down to the pharmacy world!
I’ve been experiencing the synergistic effects of turmeric and resveratrol to good effect! Anything to keep inflammation under control. I take the supplements rather than using spices or drinking red grape products.
Oh, you poor thing! 😉
