Be it a hamburger at McDonalds, a mega-spread at gran’s, you’re cooking for 20, or just spending a cozy day doing nothing—have a very good Thanksgiving. And a special Thanksgiving to those dedicated police, fire, transportation, city services and medical folk who are snatching a hamburger while keeping civilization going: thanks to service people at home and abroad; thanks to teachers and healers and charity workers who don’t get thanks often enough.
Thanksgiving is for counting the good things in your life and the good people you’ve met. And our readers are the best. Hugs all round.
Thank you Carolyn.
My mother ordered the food from the local grocery, my father went out to pick it up, so that leaves me to cook.
I did buy a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon, which I hope will go well with the meal. Mom can’t drink much wine, since she’s diabetic, but a small bit won’t hurt her, according to her doctors.
Happy Thanksgiving to all, wherever you are, or whatever you’re doing. I spent 2 Thanksgivings overseas alone, so if anyone is in that situation, or just alone at home, please make an effort to contact those you know, even if it’s just a quick telephone call or email to say, “Hello, I’m alive.”
And we’re glad to hear from YOU, Joe! Welcome back!
As well as police and fire let’s not forget the people bring you all those parades, football games and specials you enjoy so much on the TV. We work on every holiday while you recline on the couch. I was, for many years, one of those people.

Yes,a very happy Thanksgiving to everyone! We are,one and
all blessed with good friends and family. Some of us also
have miracle working healers, which means we are thrice
blessed!
Happy thanks giving to all you to the left of the pond
Happy thanksgiving to all of you.
Thank you, CJ, and the same back to you and Ja ne, and to all, from Debbie and me.
Happy Thanksgiving CJ, Jane, and all who gather here! We need more days where the whole point is to be with those you love.
Happy Thanksgiving to all. Great to see you back, Joekc6nix. All must be reasonably well if you are doing the cooking. Peace and love to friends old and new, far-flung and here at home. 😆
A very Happy Thanksgiving to all! I am avoiding washing the dishes after a minor feast: myself, DH, and 3 friends without relatives in the immediate area. Napping not-induced-by-turkey looks viable.
We’re having a dozen students over on Sunday for a Thanksgiving dinner. (We live in England.)
By the way, there’s strong evidence for life on Mars. See this link: . Here’s the popular story: http://tinyurl.com/yz2z9ko

The holidays are always very busy for those in counter terrorism.
They have to assume that all those crowd events could be targets.
And they never know.
So they have to work all events.
Just sayin……
