about 15 min after sundown, near the sun’s path: we haven’t seen it yet, but you don’t need a scope, they’re saying. We’re having clear skies, so there is hope.

It’s overcast here in KC and threatening storms for several hours, but there should be several more nights of viewing opportunities if I recall the graphic. I remember seeing Halley’s – mom was going through chemo and feeling lousy, but we stood in the front yard in the cold where she clapped and laughed, so happy to see it!
2 nights ago DH and I went up the hill to a parking lot in an attempt to spot the comet. We had a clear view out to the horizon — except for a band of clouds that was dumping rain from SW to NW, about 2 thumbs above the horizon. Vog and rain for the next 2 days. Curses, skunked again! We will have several more nights of potential viewing, and would really like to be able to say we saw it; one of our astronomer friends has his name on the “we found it!” paper.
I think the viewing potential is for at least this coming week, so there’s still hope.
They’re saying it’s getting brighter.
There is no “God” particle.
“Five days of presentations on the particle, the Higgs boson, at a scientific conference high in the Italian Alps point to it being the last missing piece in a 30-year-old cosmic blueprint and nothing more, physicists following the event say.“
Did you finally get to see it?
FYI: Really enjoyed talking with you and Jane Friday evening!
Alas, no: we had a little haze of cloud on that horizon: I gave it a number of tries, but no joy.
Good conversation!
We had a livingroom full of doll enthusiasts last night, and bjds of every size and type sitting on every available shelf. Wish you could have been there! We had pizza!
