Note Foreigner 2 through 6 are not yet available as ebooks in the USA either. I’d be very glad if they were, I’d be glad to buy them. — So those of us in the US want them also! …And any and all other C.J. Cherryh titles while they’re at it. 😀
Wow, I didn’t realize there were any of Foreigner in e-book at ALL. I seem to have got most of the Closed Circle stuff but: Are the e-pub Heavytime and Hellburner edited/updated like the other ones were? I have those at home on paper, yet if you, CJ, had a chance to put your un-diluted hand into the editing process… I may have to get myself an ebook instead of mocha for a week. 🙂
I bought a Kindle solely so I could read CJ and Jane’s books!
So did I! If my favorite author was going to come up with new and improved or totally nifty new stuff that was going to be digital, then you betcha I was going to have some nifty traveling thingie to read them on.
I’m in the middle of the second part of Fairy Moon. Loving it! I’m a big fan of the Seelie and Unseelie Court, even though I don’t know much about the specific characters/types.
My bjd court is a Celtic/Japanese mix. Their tiny Liege (the size of a PukiPuki but different company) is Cian Cyan Teyrnon Kentigern.
CJ,
I have started a table of where Foreigner books are available in eBook formats – at http://wp.me/pjjic-a – Amazon Kindle, Kobo, Nook so far…
I also have started a larger table with the Fortress (Tristan) and other books in it – not as complete yet.
If you want the tables so you can post them here yourself, just ask….:-)
Cheers
Keith
Sounds great!
@kjanderson, you’ve got all the Foreigner books listed as unavailable from Kobo, but I have bought books 1, 7, 10, 11, 12 and 13 from them. Which country you’re from makes a difference in whether you see them for sale or not, so you might add that to your table. This may be why you don’t see any Foreigner books on Kobo.
I’m in the ‘rest-of-the-world’ group as far as publisher’s rights to sell me ebooks go, so books that are strictly limited to sale in the USA are invisible to me. As most USA and/or UK book publishing rights contracts contain a clause about a non-exclusive license to sell these books to ‘the rest of the world’ the publisher often does have the right to sell me such books, but has forgotten to add this setting when distributing the ebook to the digital stores.
In cases where you find a book that is legally available elsewhere missing from a store, or unavailable for sale to your location, an email to the publisher can often get them to sort out these permissions-settings in anything from a few weeks to a few months time.
Good work!
There’s quite a handy site called luzme.com that lists ebook prices from multiple stores/formats/countries. You might find it helps you fill in any gaps.
I’m not affiliated with them in any way etc etc, I just find it useful.
Thanks for the great feedback. Yes, my table is from an Australian-only researched view!
The luzme site looks very useful.
I will have to redo table, or redo as several tables, to incorporate view based on person’s country…
Thanks
K
