I just received an e-mail that states that one of our very active members has passed away from a long illness. Deepest appreciation to a very warm and wonderful member of this site: we will miss her very much.

How sad. It will be very strange not to see her blue butterfly avatar in the comments any more.
Oh no. I am almost physically ill. I am so, so sorry.
This is just awful. I’ll certainly miss her presence here.
We’ll drink a toast to her at MisCon. She’ll be with us in spirit.
We will indeed. She was a very brave person. She and I talked about death: she carried a DNR tag with her, didn’t want any heroic efforts, and said she preferred laughter to glumness about it all. You all should know you were in the presence of one brave, gallant soul—who I think had one interesting life.
Absolutely, Jane. I was really, really looking forward to meeting and am so sad about this.
As you know, I *just* hung up the phone w/ you & Carolyn. I told Carolyn, but wish to repeat here publicly, how much joy WWAS brought Azureblu during her last months. I can’t imagine how much this site and the *friends* on it meant to her.
Please add my voice to those who send their condolences. I know it’s technically difficult to pass a card around, but is there some way we can pass on this tribute to her family? She will be missed indeed.
Her friend and caregiver is handling her e-mails now, and I can copy and pass on these messages.
One is deeply saddened to hear this news. Many condolences to her family and close(r) friends.
I know you said long illness, but it feels so sudden – I read her posts within the last week, I’m sure of it.
If this site brought such joy to her (which doesn’t surprise me), then I’m glad she was able to stay with us so long.
I would like to extend condolences to her family, but also to the rest of this family/community.
My deepest condolences to her family. Her presence here will be missed.
My condolences go out to her family and close associates. She was remarkably grounded in a sensible way, and connected to the world around her. Her concerns were for the minutiae of daily life, when in the same circumstances I would be a complete scatterbrain. Azureblu will be sorely missed. May we all have her grace.
Very sad, very distressing. She was a bright presence.
So sad to learn that we will hear no more from her. Another voice to cherish and remember
My condolences to her family and friends. She will be missed here, she was such a nice person on this blog! I hope she got to enjoy being read to by her new computer in these last weeks, so that she didn’t have to sit at the screen too much while still getting the distraction and the joy of her favorite stories.
My sympathies go out to Azureblu’s family and friends. We will all miss that rare blue butterfly.
That’s so very sad, and does seem sudden as “we” were just talking about the new computer, and downloading books. She really lived in the laughter of it.
I’m very sad. And if I get all weepy here at work over someone I never met, and whose real name I never even knew, everyone here will think I’m insane. It’s amazing how words on a screen can affect you. I’m glad she was able to enjoy the site — she was certainly one of the more active members. We’ll miss her.
I will so miss Azureblu!
I am very sorry to hear the news about Azureblu; I’m more of a lurker than a poster, and I really enjoyed her take on things. She will be missed.
I have sent these sentiments on to her friend/caregiver and her family. I am sure they will be appreciated.
She and her loved ones are in our thoughts and prayers.
