I refer you to Jane’s site. It’s been a very stressful couple of months—and a great comfort has been caring people who have been so good to us. We sent word that we wanted to do something special for the people who got this together for us—and unfortunately that ‘something special’ has been closely linked to the difficulties we have had getting Closed Circle online. Every week I have thought “next week, next week” and now I realize time has passed and we have not been able to get this done—yet. So this is the best we can do right now, today, and Jane and I both thank you. Visit her post at: http://www.janefancher.com/TheCaptainAndLime/
and all I can say is that thing we want to do will get done. It’s just dependent on a system we are trying to learn.
If you want to see just how user-friendly and effective a Content Management System can be (as opposed to Joomla), take a look at LightNEasy.
If you go to the home page at lightneasy.org they have a showcase of live sites created with LightNEasy – some of them are quite impressive.
There is also an online demo where you can try it out at
http://demo.lightneasy.org
At the bottom you’ll see a link to ‘login’. Use Admin + demo.
You can change anything you like (I think the demo gets reset every hour), but it’s probably not a good idea to delete all the pages or mess it up too much, for the sake of other users.
When you’re logged in, you will see 3 icons on each page – Edit, Delete, and Admin Panel.
Try adding a page from the Admin Panel. Change the template to one of the examples provided, etc.
… and then note that a template is simply a normal HTML page with markers in it, showing where the Menu goes, where the News box goes, where the content goes, etc. etc.
Thanks. I’ll take a look at that.
