That is just fantastic. Even where she’s gone not strictly to the usual, she’s thought it out in a way that (I think) would fit in with the period / culture. And aw heck, it’s charming as all get out.
I’m also looking forward to Dread Piratical Wiishu, arrrh.
I’ll have a small update on my forum and blog later this evening. Nothing spectacular as yet, but baby steps first.
Goober is, thankfully, back inside and all is well.
I got “Ancillary Justice” from NetGalley last week and will be reviewing it on GoodReads & Shelfari after reading it. It sounds interesting enough that I may move it up in the queue.
Wii-Pollo is just too amazingly cute. I’m not at all familiar with the BJD community, so I don’t know what kind of things they look for in doll costumes. But for me, it’s much more fun to have a something (like a doll) that can *do* something rather than just stand there and be admired. Jane has given Wiishu tons of things to do. I bet he’s trying to figure out how to sneak into Papa’s stable and snitch one of the ponies for his chariot!

Beautiful, intelligent, creative work as always — and I love the training wheels!
I can hear the two of them now!
“Pollo, you’re such a girl!”
” Shut up, Di! How would you know?”
Jane’s scultping and fine-sewing detail is amazing — also her ability to perm doll hair.
Jane’s pictorial story telling is not only :o), but is about two inches away from stop action video.
Mention was made of Ann Leckie’s new book “Ancillary Justice”
Elizabeth Bear did a nice review of same here: http://matociquala.livejournal.com/2202317.html

The last question was a nice complement to our host.

There is an interview with Ann at The Qwillery and a Guest Post by her at SF Signal.
