He’s far from perfect, but this is subject to many other layers of paint…and second thoughts. He’s inspired by Renji, the koi. I may give him koi whiskers. Or not. He came grey. He’s getting whimsical.

Gee whiz.
I like the effect of the eyes. It is as though they are sensory pits, like some snakes have, rather than eyes, and I think that’s mugu cool!
Well, he will actually have eyes when I get through, though. And I’ve got some stray pencil marks to deal with…the white doesn’t show until you apply the fixative, and that’s a little surprise, but I think I can cope with it. 😉
Too bad they don’t have eye cups as well as eye balls, when you have those, the eyes will seem to follow you.
An eye cup rather like this:

Silver on each side, black in the center, and a shiny top coat.
That is just really amazing, wonderful, and cute…in a fiercely cute way.
Also happy for Jane, to whom I gave belated congratulations. (I missed the blue ribbon in the thumbnail view.)
A little dusting of pastels will soften the pencil lines and unify the whole. You can put more pastels in areas where the stray pencil lines are.
I think I’ve got that fixed. My eyesight close up isn’t what it ought to be, and spraying the fixative makes invisible white lines appear bright. It’s smoothing out. And thanks! Advice appreciated.
I’ve been using a portable MIghty Bright light/magnifier for crafts since my close vision started to go five or six years ago.
I absolutely LOVE how you have enhanced Deimos, CJ! I posted a link to the artist who sculpted the Chaos Demon Kitty, now a gargoyle, so she could see what you’ve done.
looks great!
