Hope CJ doesnt have to re-read the book to answer your question. I heard an interesting interview with the guy who proved Fermats Theorem. He said one thing that helped him solve it is having a bad memory; so he could start fresh all over again and look at things from a new perspective.
Interesting question. He’s from an age somewhat beyond the colonization phase when azi were the answer to a problem. But in the age of war from which he came, something of the old tech may have risen up again.
