Welcome to the new look
Wave Without A Shore

It’s a work in progress but everything should work now

Jane’s Doing Fine

Mostly incision pain. She's moving about pretty well, but relying on the walker to avoid thoughtless twists and other bodily moves that could tweak abused muscle. The only muscle incision is vertical, but there is 'retraction', which is not a gentle process. She's...

We can’t do anything the simple way…

On her way to the car, Jane hit the door open button for the garage. In the dark of 6am in Spokane winter. She settled in (I'd been warming the car.) and I hit the door open button on the car visor and backed out. Hit the garage door. It IS a both open and close...

Well, adventures weren’t over…

On a snowy night at 3 am, Jane had gut pain severe enough I took her to a fancy clinic, which called an ambulance to get her to the hospital for removal of her gall bladder, which had never given any prior trouble. That was a week ago. Today she gets her right hip...

This last year….

Ill in January, I bounced through a series of medical appointments which. thanks to one doc and two NP's, bounced me to a colonoscopy. which found, yes, cancer. I was in surgery within two weeks, on chemo the week after that, and am glad to report I finished chemo in...

Jane & I won the Prometheus Award for Alliance Rising

It's a very nice award. It recognizes a book that promotes individual freedom or the right to 'vote with one's feet' when it comes to choosing your allies and your government. Intelligence and foresight matter. Which is something AR is about.

Under the weather last 2 weeks, doing better.

Not the virus. Just crud. But ok. We're saying a reluctant goodbye to Scott---he's been with us a long time, part of the 'family', he and Andrea. But construction jobs have to end, and he has to move on to a shower install elsewhere. He'll pop back in to help us with...

We are officially into the cleanup phase of house remodel…

And with Scott's help---we managed to get the weight of the marine tank canopy reduced by about 90% which means easy off-on. Feeding is still an adventure---I have to get a short ladder and climb up to drop food in, but that's not too bad. OTOH, FINITY made the leap...

Finishing up the house remodel

We're starting on a new phase---cleanup. We've lived like campers for nearly 3 years, embarrassed even to open the door to callers, because the living room is awash in boxes and every room in the house is 'temporarily' stocked with stuff that doesn't belong there.

Windstorm and hawthorne hulls. OMG.

I pulled about 10 lbs of them out of the pond filter, and spent an hour power-washing them out of the fiber filter mat. Glug! They're all over the drive and patio, not to mention everything else. Hawthorne is one of the prettiest blooming trees, the Maxfield Parrish...

cleaning the Augean Stables….

Aka, Jane's freshwater tank that's been limping along, occasionally inaccessible except for feeding and addition of water, for about 2 years. I decided to lend a hand. And ordered a new pump/filter system (Sicce Shark, 800) to replace the 2 double Penguin filters,...
