A wee bit of trouble with the Closed Circle site…

Trying to run some site changes involving improved navigation and display happened (cosmic luck) to exactly correspond with Lynn’s update of the WP software….this comedy of errors has resulted in some artifacts on the CC site. It’s functional, and the info is there, and it can be read, but there are a few glitches that [...]

spammers are such pigs…

I’ve finally learned how to get Thunderbird to ban a whole site: highlight a piece of spam in the inbox, go to “message/create filter from message”, choose not ‘is’, but ‘contains’, and get rid of everything but the part after the @.

Unfortunately if your e-mail is being hosted by a site that has sent [...]

Getting Closed Circle file to an Iphone…

we have an inquiry on CC. We assume that you first download a file to your computer and use a USB cord to port it to your Iphone. But we’re not sure.

So could somebody who uses an Iphone outline the steps for us and tell us what format the Iphone uses?

how to waste time

Really wicked links follow: it’s easier to put them in a comment than get the fancy-shmancy link button to work in the regular post.

New keyboard on its way: at 1pm today!

I will be so relieved. This computer, vintage 2004, is a little slower (much!) than the new one, not to mention having some grievous issues with its pointer, which occasionally opens things you not only don’t intend, but can’t even figure out what Microsoft nuisance you accidentally touched and what it does…

This one decided [...]

This poor backup laptop…

I am remembering in detail the reasons I decided I had to get a new computer. It’s amazingly iffy. It can’t load some internet pages, for reasons I cannot parse, but since my new computer will be fixed soon, not worth chasing down…it works as a workhorse in an emergency, which is its job. I [...]

Announcing a blessed event.

I committed computer. Dell has a 300.00 off sale going on, and that brought this one into affordability, a Latitude E5550, which is, I hope, in the ‘reliable workhorse’ category. My own system is wheezing under the load, and its second extension of warranty is running out next month, after having provided me 2-3 keyboards [...]

Jane is ex-haust-ed…

Up at 2 am and not calling me: seems she found out it was the Condor deadline for getting an ad in the program book, and she sat up half the night putting a new format together, since what we could afford was a half page, and our regular flier isn’t formatted for that size.

[...]

We are not out of the woods yet: Jane is trying to nail the rathole shut…

Any help is welcome. Anybody out there a PPH guru?

Jane’s got her site fixed…

The nature of the problem was not such that you could pick up any ‘contagion’ from it. It was an attempt to phish search engines in favor of another site, as I understand it. Jane has the explanation on her site, plus input from Abbey, who has traced the origin of the links…

Thank all of [...]
