and Jane FINALLY (see the epic 6.5 hour struggle with Comcast…) got the new router set up.
It wasn’t glitchless, but we got it. Jane got it.
Neither she nor I is as energetic as we wish, but hey, the router does work.
Yesterday she got mulch for the new trees. WE hope this will be soon enough, because fall fell with a minus -1 thump! this year and we got no grace period.
I am finally MENTALLY doing ok…for a while there, with the crud, I was so full of meds I couldn’t think through plot. The book is moving along.
Otherwise, we are just staying in where it’s warm and not doing too much but decorate and work.
You are both to be admired for getting stuff done when you have the stuffing knocked out of you. It’s hard to think straight when you feel lousy.
As long as it didn’t stay at -1 for very long your trees should be fine……toes crossed.
We’ve had snow all day when it was supposed to be rain. Boy are we glad we bit the bullet and go everything done yesterday.
Stay warm……….
We had a little warming trend up to 47F today, but it’s back down into the 30’s tomorrow with below freezing low temps (20’s) all week. They do promise us 58F for Friday, but I won’t bet on it. Glad you’re finally on the upturn from the galloping epizootic, and that you have the new router up. Everything done is one less thing to worry about.
Triple that — recovering from the creeping crud and Getting Stuff Done on top of it is double-plus good!
I assaulted the back yard yesterday with anvil loppers and hedge trimmers; loppers for the ever-decaying hedge, and hedge trimmers being the only tool I own that could beat the fountain grass into moderate submission. It was looking like the Serengeti back there! And I think I must have gotten hands on one of the cheap knockoff Fiskars. The blade is already starting to get nicks in it, so do I bounce it? I don’t know where I put the receipt.
John Scalzi has a notice up on his site about the Clayton Memorial Medical Fund, started by Jo Clayton, by and for sf&f writers in the NW who are having a patch of medical trouble. Apparently it is yet another worthy charity where pickins are getting slim. Gods, felicitous and in-, forbid that any persons we know would need to avail themselves.

Is this possibly to help Jay Lake?
