Read the interview, which I loved, whihc led me to the site, which I loved where I read “I’m told it was actually Jerry Pournelle who coined the phrase TANSTAAFL…which many people (including myself, thank you to the reader who wrote me pointing this out) mistakenly attribute to Robert Heinlein.”
This is incorrect. The term dates back to the 40′s, at least, and Heinlein popularized it in 1966 with the Moon is a Harsh Mistress. Pournelle’s first novel wasn’t published until 1969. Neither man “coined” it, though
Now, back to reading your site!
