If you’re on facebook, there’s a site for the Foreigner Movie-in-Audio

Foreigner-in-audio is not a ‘read’ type audio: this is like watching a movie with your ears, professional level movie audio with actors: let your imagination paint the pictures.

This link is to a community developing at that site, and if you ‘like’ it you stand a chance of finding it again, in the way FB continually loses bits and pieces according to whether you cap my initials or use periods.

There are discussions and questions and progress reports.

  • I can’t wait to hear it. It sounds fun. Maybe a Chanur adventure next?

This will be very interesting. BTW, “Liked”.

Wow, I guess I’m overwhelmed by the tumblr page! Hope all goes smoothly. Can’t wait for the finished product.

    • ready4more…. oh dear, I hope that’s “overwhelmed” in a good way!! I’m the one responsible (at this time) for the blog. Do let me know what you’d like to see on it! Right now it’s a bit of a hit and miss hoping that I’m giving out information that you like, art that’s fun, things that are engaging and interesting. One my own blog and webpage I tend to stick to things that are more related to what I’m doing on the project (other than the blog and FB)

I personally feel I have to shorten my blog writing… answer just one or two questions, but sometimes… when I get on a roll! talkity talkity talk!!!

  • I’ll gladly check Tumblr.

I haven’t joined Facebook, mostly due to iffy feelings about their privacy versus public information. But I can and will visit, if non-Facebook members can see the pages. :)

I haven’t felt the need to join Twitter, but I have checked Twitter pages a few times. I might join up.

Hoping for good things re the Foreigner project. — I would enjoy a Chanur project too.

I should have time in the next few days to do more toward migrating my data and trying Audacity and GarageBand on the iMac. I should know this week or next if I’m truly back into being able to record audio again. (Voice, that is.)

Just if you join FB be aware they share your data, so don’t tell them anything. Many fill in nonsense in the blanks…and don’t let them have your pix, unless you don’t care if they’re reused in different context and spread across the internet.

Tumblr is a site new to me, but it seems to have some good content (namely us) and I’ve found nothing there to distrust.

And there will be a Kickstarter campaign with lots of good stuff, which I am helping with, so ears up for that. Many, many really neat plans they will start announcing when they are closer to the release.

  • I wonder whatever happened to Diaspora….wasn’t that supposed to take the place of FB for us adults?

  • CJ

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diaspora_%28social_network%29
It currently exists, but I haven’t figured out its intricacies, yet. On my to-do list. It seems to be somehow linked with Twitter, or displays a Twitter logo when you try to sign up, and somehow they’re claiming either I have an account or my name is already used. This could be because I’m on their ‘notify’ list, but haven’t gotten anything from them in about a year.

    • I had to re-subscribe, so when I got onto the site and looked up the “pods” I would be interested in joining, I noticed that there is the same kinds of things going on there as are on FB. Maybe the moderators are a little more aggressive at Diaspora, so I’ll have to give it some time and check back occasionally.

As per sewing machines, nothing that I’ve found commercially available which was made after the mid-1970s seems to be worth having. My ideal is something made between 1945ish and 1965ish with zigzag and lots of nice attachments. Stretch stitch is a nice bonus, but with a good zigzag and a roll of masking tape, you don’t really need it

Also, out of the deep dark, I wonder how many folks are naming their daughters Ellissa Dea, just in hope that they will cope with things as well as The Dowager does… Flame Goddess….
