Here’s the deal.
It’s a free download. It’s only in bare-bones PDF, because it’s not finished. The picture—I borrowed from Jane, from her slide show. Has absolutely nothing to do with the story, understand.
Do understand, too—it’s not finished. There is an outside chance it will never be finished.
It could end up being a novelette. Or a novel. I don’t know.
We’re using the regular donate button, so if you want to support the project, designate it S&S and we’ll know what it’s for. When donations reach a certain inspirational level, I’ll write another bit toward resolving it. Or…in the way of the writing process…I could re-edit what’s already up and add bits, or subtract bits. This is your chance to view the writing process in real life.
In the meanwhile, I’ll establish a thread on this blog where those of you who have read it can discuss it to your hearts’ content. It’s an experiment. It may work, or not. But I thought you might enjoy the ride.

Sorry, I’m clearly a bit dim about this stuff, but I can’t see a way on the Pay-Pal page of specifying S&S when making a donation?
It probably just appears somewhere in the process, but if it doesn’t, I’ll move you into the appropriate folder if you just let me know there was a glitch.
CJ ji, I went to donate a little something for the S&S……..all went well until it came time to specify who gets what….I can enter the amount of donation but cannot get the cursor to let me specify to whom it goes. Does that make sense? Sometimes I hit real brain freezes in computing……me not the machine.
The sun is out and we are beginning to dry out. RI has not been in the news this much since the Von Bulow trial! 😉
Mmm, sounds as if you and Paul have the same problem, and it is probably not your problem, but OUR problem. Go ahead and donate, and I will get you into the S&S folder, plus keep a record in my word processor, if that’s what it takes until we get this straightened out.
Once you have specified an amount and logged into your paypal account you’ll see a little hyperlink that says instructions to seller or something to that effect. Click on the link and it will let you do that…. And of course I dumbed out and forgot to put S&S on my donation…. It’s been that FOOLISH type of day at work as well….

Ummmm….yeah….I discovered the hyperlink, typed in S&S and forgot to mention that S.C. in Wood River Jct. is me. @ Ready4more…It’s THAT kind of day! I wrote the entry about all this and never posted it…..shut down the browser and lost the post! (At least that’s what I assume, unless I completely went blooey and put it elsewhere. I think all the sun today has affected my brain!) There’s always tomorrow!
CJ ji, are you aware that the S&S thread wants a separate log in?
We now can get off the hill by one road…..others have bridges and are flooded…..Lots of sun and warmth for the next week…..forsythia is starting to bloom….daffodils are terrific…………interesting times! 😉
The page up above? The S&S page on Wave? That’d be weird. Or the one on CC? The donation on CC has a form to fill out, but it always has had. I’ll check the one out on Wave and see if something weird is checked in Admin.
You designate the recipient of the donation on the page where you confirm payment. There is a link for “special instructions to seller” – click that and you get a text box where you indicate what the donation is for.
The S&S page on Wave…..I’m pretty sure I was logged in over here from last night……….but my brain could be in meltdown! 😉
Weird. If anybody else gets that, or if you get it again—let me know and I’ll try to find out. If it’s of any comfort, sometimes WordPress makes even Admin log in, having forgotten me since my last visit.

Enjoyed your S&S. I would like to donate but will wait until you have it smoothed out. Dickens used to sell his novel to America in serial format. What a novel idea…Opening to your story reminds me of I think the movie Ben Hur when Judah is on the roof watching the Roman Legions and accidentally dislodges roof tiles almost killing a Roman soldier. Any influence from this? Loved the story so far…
